  I've been coming here for a long time (and have a big bottle of their white sauce in my refrigerator right now), but today's experience was a downer. I love the white sauce and asked for a little more to put on my food. I was told I'd have to pay for it.
  
  Sure, the menu says "4 oz. sauce: $1.00", but (as I told the owner), I don't recall being charged for a refill on previous visits. Maybe I was and didn't notice.
  
  Most Mexican restaurants will give you more salsa (or one complementary refill if you buy food), so being charged for the first refill was an unwelcome surprise. I've liked this place since the 1980s, but I really like being treated like a valued customer, too.
  
  It's certainly their prerogative to do it, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope the revenue from salsa sales exceeds its cost in customer goodwill.
